Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified competitiveness in the industrial sector, necessitating organizations to enhance their business operations for more effectiveness and efficiency. The textile and textile product industries have also been affected by the pandemic. Entrepreneurs in the induction sector should devise innovative techniques to optimize employee productivity and enhance firm support infrastructure. The proposed raw materials warehouse layout design using the Class-Based Storage Method by grouping raw materials based on suppliers can help entrepreneurs have a suitable warehouse layout and make it easier to find raw materials. The steps involved in the procedure of the Class-Based Storage Method are as follows: Counting the total number of pallets stored in the warehouse, which amounts to 191 pallets; determining the dimensions and layout of the aisles in the warehouse; selecting the appropriate storage media using the Larson row depth algorithm, and Allocating the floor space in the warehouse using the Larson classification algorithm. The proposed raw material warehouse layout has a storage area of 148.32 m2. The total distance traveled for the movement of all raw materials is 1727.65 m, resulting in a total cost of IDR 600,289.
