Abstract
Indonesia is a country that is quite rich in renewable energy potential such as solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, and micro hydro power plants. The energy potential utilized in Indonesia mostly still uses energy in the form of fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and petroleum). Especially for micro hydro, its utilization is still not optimally used, and little known to the community, especially rural areas that have abundant natural resources. To reduce the use of fossil fuels, several studies have been conducted on renewable energy sources such as microhydro power plants. Micro hydro power plants harness the potential energy of water to convert it into electrical energy. The research method carried out was an experiment, using a model of micro hydro power plants using a screw turbine (Archimedes Screw) with a turbine tilt angle of 20 degrees. The results obtained were 13 tests, where every 1 test was carried out every 1 hour, the greater the rotation of the screw turbine, the greater the efficiency produced during testing without load or with load.
