Abstract

Infrastructure is one of the foundations for a country to run and improve the wheels of a country's economy. Building effective infrastructure and buildings is not an easy task as it requires efficient planning, design, and construction. One of the ways to accomplish this is by using the latest technology known as Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM is a software that provides analytical capabilities throughout the lifecycle of a building, from planning, design, construction, use, maintenance, and demolition. BIM provides visualizations that are not limited to only two dimensions but extend from three to seven dimensions. However, BIM is still not very popular in Indonesia, so awareness and education are essential for both construction workers and academics. Educational methods used include presentation sessions, discussions, and demonstrations on the use of BIM software. The target group of this program is the students of the Department of Design, Modeling and Architectural Information (DPIB) in SMKN 4 Tangerang. Based on observations, this outreach had significant results. More than 80% of students reported that BIM skills increase the efficiency and accuracy of their construction projects, giving them a competitive advantage in future jobs in the construction industry field.
