Abstract
The availability of groundwater has decreased drastically due to excessive use of groundwater. Indonesia, as a tropical country, has quite high rainfall throughout the rainy season. The main problem of this research is that rainfall has not been utilized or controlled optimally so that it only flows as runoff. Rainwater can be used by the community for their daily needs. Rainwater harvesting techniques can be carried out using gutters installed on the roof of the building, which function as a tool to direct the flow of rainwater from the roof to a shelter. Rainfall as a percentage of the roof area will determine the volume. The new thing proposed in this research is the values and variables of water parameters in case studies of research implementation. The research was conducted in one of the residences in Central Jakarta. The building has a roof area of 70 m2 with an average daily rainfall of 11.71 mm/day (January – March, November December 2023). Thus, the potential for rainwater that can be stored during the rainy season is 3.07 m3/month. The quality of rainwater is analyzed based on several parameters, namely pH 6.0, temperature 27.3°C, turbidity 4.74 NTU, total dissolved solids 68 mg/l, dissolved iron <0.01, dissolved lead not detected, total coliform 32 APM/100 ml, E Coli 0 APM/100 ml, total hardness 36 mg/l. Testing of the results of this research was carried out by testing water quality standards in accordance with Indonesian Minister of Health regulation number 32 of 2017. The test results show that rainwater can be directly used for domestic purposes.
