Abstract

  1. PLN ULP Rote Ndao had 38,952 customers in January 2023, comprising 164 postpaid customers and 38,788 prepaid customers. Where 12.7% of the number of prepaid customers at ULP Rote Ndao are included in the old kwh meter category. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically inspect and replace old KWH meters with new KWH meters. So that the energy distributed or sold to customers can be measured accurately using a kWh meter. Based on the Management Contract related to the Rote Ndao ULP Key Performance Indicator, the target losses were 9.35%. In comparison, the actual technical losses were 7.13%, and non-technical losses were 5.75%, so non-technical losses needed improvement. This study analyzes the effect of replacing old KWh meters on the accuracy of measuring electrical energy when conducting research using quantitative methods. The inspection results of 488 customers based on the minutes of inspection results of P2TL customers found 155 kWh meters with a measurement accuracy level of -91% to -100%. After replacing the old KWh meter with a significant error value with a new KWh meter and calculating non-technical losses from 5.75% to 0.95%. Which decreased by 4.80% after the kWh meter was replaced.
