Abstract
Solar cells convert sunlight energy into electricity through the photovoltaic effect mechanism. Power efficiency reduction in this system is often caused by the presence of dust, fluctuations in solar radiation, temperature variations, and shading. Even small objects or shadows on the panel surface can significantly decrease energy output. Previous studies have utilized image-based photo analysis to detect these issues; however, this approach often fails to accurately represent field conditions. This research aims to develop Python-based software to detect obstructions around static PV systems, such as branches and leaves. Experimental results demonstrate that the system can detect obstructing objects with high accuracy through white color representation. By increasing sunlight exposure on solar panels, this approach has the potential to optimize power output and overall PV system efficiency
