Abstract
The increasing demand for electricity must be aligned with that electricity production to meet the needs for both industry and society. Pembangkit Listrik tenaga Uap (PLTGU) is one of the power plants that operates to maintain the stability of electricity supply to meet these community needs. On the other hand, the thermal efficiency is the very important key for the ability of PLTGU to generate electricity. Thus, in this paper we analyze the thermal efficiency of the PLTGU UP Muara Karang Blok 2 at a load of 135 MW using the Senkey Diagram approach. This method allows for a comprehensive adn complete overview of energy flow and system eficiency. The application of calculations based on the First Law of Thermodynamics in this study focuses on the main components of the PLTGU, including the compressor, gas turbine, combustor, and other important components. The data on the heat input and output, along with heat loss in the components of the gas turbine power plant (PLTGU) at a load of 135 MW, show an increase in thermal efficiency after the overhaul, from 84.92% to 86.40%. The distribution of heat input to the main components also increased, reflecting the optimization of energy conversion. Heat loss has decreased, indicating an improvement in energy efficiency.
