Abstract
Indonesia is promoting an energy transition, which is part of the national agenda to maintain energy security and realize a green economy. The energy transition is an effort to shift the use of fossil energy to renewable energy. The goal is to maintain environmental sustainability and prevent a climate crisis. The use of solar energy is an effort to reduce fossil energy. The use of this new renewable energy (PLTS) is free, environmentally friendly, and abundant. Therefore, this needs to be socialized more widely, including in the school environment. The purpose of this community service is to educate students of SMAN 1 Gunung Sindur, Banten, about the use of solar energy to generate electricity, so that the electrical energy produced from the PLTS can later also be used in the school environment such as lighting or in other simple electrical installations. This activity was carried out by making a prototype of a solar panel installation and a simple electrical installation which was used as an example of the implementation of the use of solar energy as a source of new renewable electrical energy. The team also socialized how and what can be utilized from this electrical energy by adding some simple electrical load details such as lights and electrical terminals for charging smartphone batteries. This activity (PKM) can be successful and beneficial for students of SMAN 1 Gunung Sindur and IT - PLN in the future.
