Abstract

Integrating Green Computing(GC) models into the application development process is expected to make developers involved in the efficiency of environmental degradation. The purpose of the research is to apply GC models to the phases of the Rational Unified Process (RUP). This research will assess each document produced at each RUP phases. Each Document produced will be assessed based on GC Variable. All phases of RUP will be execute on the development of correspondence applications in higher education institutions. By comparing the produced documents, can be found the types of documents that can support GC approach at each phases of the RUP. Comparison matrix of produced documents is used to assess each document against GC variables. The results of the document search applied to the RUP obtained a value in the Inception phase with a GC value of 92%, Elaboration with a GC value of 37%, Construction GC value of 74% and Transition with a GC value of 88%. This comparison matrix was successfully used to measure the GC level for application development. The total average GC that has been applied to the RUP phases in the development of these applications is 71%.
