Abstract

The improvement of technician competency standards in fish storage has become a top priority to enhance fish quality. Therefore, technicians must possess BNSP (National Professional Certification Agency) certification competency. The need for technical guidance to ensure knowledge and skills align with fish handling competency standards is crucial. The training, organized by the TIM P2M Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's Program at the PLN Institute of Technology, serves as an educational and training medium to prepare APITU DPD BANTEN technicians for the TPTU BNSP certification exam (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technique National Professional Certification Agency), especially in fish storage, following BNSP standards. This activity involves partners from APITU DPD BANTEN and the Certification Agency for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Practitioners in Indonesia (APITU INDONESIA). The training is specifically aimed at APITU DPD Banten members. With a duration of three days, the training material is developed based on the TPTU BNSP certification standards, particularly in fish handling. The expected outcomes of this training are that APITU DPD Banten members can pass the TPTU BNSP certification competency test, improve their technical skills, and contribute positively to the fish handling industry. The conclusion drawn from this activity highlights the importance of education and training in supporting competency standards improvement in the fisheries sector. In this context, suggestions for further skill development and practical learning can be key to the sustainability and success of participants in supporting the refrigerated fish storage industry.
